"The "Baja Arizona" idea has some fans, apparently.
An article in Thursday's Star outlined a political committee's plan to try to get Southern Arizona to secede and form a 51st state, perhaps to be called Baja Arizona.
In an online poll accompanying the story, votes were running 54-46 percent in favor of secession, out of 3,042 votes cast as of 9 p.m."
