Why the Bonnie Blue Flag?

The Bonnie Blue Flag, to me, represents the desire for independence.  It represents the desire for self determination and self sovereignty.  It is a unity, a system that provides its own light and heat.  It is the one Star, the one Individual, and, if you will, the one G-d.

While it was first flown over the Republic of West Florida for 90 days in 1810, it was the 1861 flag of the Secession of Mississippi (the Republic of West Florida included the southern counties of Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana).  The flag was immortalized by the song of the same name, written by an Ulster immigrant, and because of the song, the Bonnie Blue Flag became the first if unofficial flag of the Secessionist movement of the Southern States.

Nowadays, the flag has the opportunity to represent the reborn movement of the supporters of the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution, and the Tea Party movement.  I have seen it in pictures of various Tea Party rallies, so some people "get it".  The Bonnie Blue Flag was (fortunately) never associated by the victors of the War Between the States with Slavery as they did with the Confederate Battle Flag.  In addition, it has never been co-opted by the forces of racism and white supremacy that have tainted (in the minds of the miseducated general public) the glorious Confederate Battle Flag.   Therefore, it is the historical Flag of Secession with the best chance to be adopted by converts to decentralism, States rights, smaller Federal government, etc.,.

The single star represents each single State of the union.  It represents each single individual in each State.  Buy it and fly it.

  1. I have flown the Bonnie Blue the last couple years for the same reasons.

  2. Yep! It's on the front of my truck; I fly the eleven-star First Nat'l. for occasions such as Davis, Lee, and Jackson's b-days.

  3. I once worked in a call center where people got canned for being politically incorrect. One of the guys in another team had a jacket with a small patch with the CSA Battle Flag on it and after a couple of people complained he got canned. The guy who sat directly behind me had his cubby decorated in Mexican flags and articles about Aztlan. He also had a couple of graphics of Old Glory posted upside down. When I complained that it offended me because I had given 10 years of my life to that flag and even showed the powers that be the appropriate section of U.S. Code I was told essentially to shut up and live with it. I then put up a nice graphic of the Bonny Blue and another of one of the iterations of the national flag of the CSA. had it up for 6 months until I finally got my walking papers. When I left, I told them what I had been showing in my cubby. Dumbshites never had a clue.

    1. Good for you and God bless. Hope you got a better job after leaving there. I'd probably laminate those "walking papers" and put them on the living room wall right next to the Bonnie Blue flag. I wish you could tell us what company did that to you so we could all do absolutely NO business with them. You can't tell. Someone might decide to give them the "street justice" that they deserve so very much!

  5. For what it's worth. I had a battle flag tag on the front bumper of my 38,ooo.oo truck. When my wife and I left a cafe one night, it was smashed and on the ground by my truck. The yellow dogs who did it were nowhere around. So, I have created another tactic. Now I no longer accept $5 or pennies as return change from anyone. If asked why, I explain how Lying Lincoln murdered 400,000 of my relatives. This way I can force my enemies to look me in the eye. Oh yea, I replaced the tag on the front and added a Bonnie Blue sticke on the rear window.

  8. MY personal flag IS the Bonnie Blue Flag of the Sovereign Individual. I became an avid Confederate sympathizer in August of 2002 after reading Thomas DiLorenzo's book "The Real Lincoln" and have flown it in my yard ever since, replacing it once, so far.

I also offer it along with others in the "America's SECOND War of Secession" in my CafePress shop. What is encouraging is that without any advertising, it has been a consistent design chosen by many people.

  10. I hadn't read the history; thanks for sharing it. Even so, my own personal colors (presumptuous of me, I know) are: a red George cross on white ground, with the Bonnie Blue in the canton.

  11. I study history and I have a serious question: Could the Southern states have succeeded by forming the various governments Local/State/National and essentially boycotted or ignored the Federal government without actual going to battle? A national act of civil disobedience vs. armed conflict? A succession coup de tête?

    1. Hard to say. South Carolina asked the federal government to surrender the Union forts surrounding Charleston and peacefully leave. Major Anderson, the Union officer in charge, moved all Union forces into a more defensible position at Fort Sumter. Fort Sumter was in the process of being resupplied and fitted with more guns to prepare for an extended defense/siege of the fort. Obviously having a heavily armed opposing force in your front yard is a bit unacceptable so the Confederate forces under General Beauregard attacked the fort prior to the resupply. Too late to be short but one escalation led to another. Ironic that the bloodiest American war began with a battle that claimed zero lives. It takes both parties to be non-violent to work. Ask the survivors of Tiananmen Square how well being non-violent worked out for them.

  12. I am proudly displaying my Bonnie Blue in the back window of my SUV. Here in KY the locals took no side, which is often the choice of cowards. I was born in NY but left when I finally could. Economics have forced me to remain in KY for a while though I know I just haven't gotten to my real home. Soon enough.

I've educated many about the Bonnie Blue when it seems appropriate. Some, you just know instantly, will not understand or even want to. With them I don't bother. When you frame secession as the exercise of the Tenth Amendment, and remind those who will listen that Lincoln violated the Constitution, and murdered hundreds of thousands, it gets quiet.

I do have a history question for you in the know, because I don't know: What president issued the first "executive order"?

    God bless you all.

  13. Just wondering, if you guys get your way how would the US (or whatever would be left of it) deal with a country like Russia or China? I suspect you would no longer be a great power militarily, or am I wrong here? Really don't know.

    1. Our problems, IMHO, are not necessarily with China or Russia, neither of which appear interested in exporting their particular brands of Marxism into North America. The real problem will be dealing with Islam, which can actually be done more effectively after Secession, because true followers of Christ in the South will have the heart and will to repel and expel Muslims from our borders, and let the multiculturist, Humanistic North do as it pleases.

    2. As to military power after Secession. Studies and data support the idea that Florida, as an independent Republic, would number about 19th in economic and military strength among the nations of the world. She has at her disposal some of the best ground and air forces in the world when you consider her in-place Guard, and the numbers of sea-Guard forces after Secession (whether Coast Guard or US Navy vessels which remain) would be formidable.

  26. I think you good ol' boys is a forgettin' that individual rights need backing up with unity of state. If the Confederacy had won you would not have survived as a nation. Georgia had already seceded from the Confederacy before the war was even over.
Too soon, the Deep South would have been at war with the upper South over some trifle ...and in the long run you would have ended up as 11 weak defenseless little countries, only to be picked off by any Latin-American power - and I mean Mexico specifically.
Mexico had ceded land at gunpoint to the USA after the 1848 Mexican War and she would have been itching to get some back! Before long and one by one the former Confederate States would have drifted back to the Union for self-protection.

The implications American Civil War were not lost on the founders of my nation-state; Australia, that is why the six colonies agreed on draconian legal conditions for withdrawing from the Commonwealth if such a body was to be created.
A nationwide Referendum would be held, requiring a 2/3 majority overall, 2/3 of the states and a 2/3 majority in each state before any state could secede. Western Australia tried in 1932 and got nowhere.

In fact if I was an American I would have fought for the Union, but with the clear understanding that the Union was NOT the North, but the union of all of the, then, existing American states.

....and it's no accident that South Carolina is the nuclear waste dump of the entire country.

  29. You can still get an excellent meal at a restaurant that doesn't participate directly in the program, because the restaurants often have gluten-free pasta stashed away for
their regular clients, and they're already well familiar with celiac
disease and gluten-free food. Gluten is the protein commonly
found in Barley, Wheat and Rye. When you are diagnosed with a gluten allergy, then you know only too well what havoc this can cause from eating gluten or even worse
having hidden gluten in your diet.
